Description

Crocheted Bear Rug & Crocheted Animals : This pattern contains directions to crochet the set shown. Perfect for baby, small children or anyone with with whimsical decor, this set includes a bear rug, and a collection of crocheted animals that include a cat, a dog and a rabbit. The bear rug measures approximately 30 inches in length. The crocheted animals, are 9 inches high and featured the same bodies, with just the heads being different. Crochet one, or crochet them all. These fun pets are vintage 1960s from Columbia Minerva.

Materials For Bear Rug:

  • Columbia-Minerva Bulky Nantuk (2 ounce skein) White-9 skeins
  • a few yards of black yarn for embroidery
  • 2 black buttons or beads for eyes
  • Cotton batting for stuffing
  • "Boye" crochet hook "J" (Size 9)
  • One "Hiawatha" blunt end tapestry needle
Gauge: 5 sts to 2 inches

Materials for Crocheted Animals:
  • Columbia-Minerva Nantuk 4 ply Knitting Yarn (Knitting Worsted size - 2 or 4 oz skein)
  • 2 ounces for each Animal
  • small pieces of Felt for trim
  • small amounts of Black, Pink and Red Embroidery Floss
  • 1 "Boye" Aluminum Crochet Hook "G" (Size 5)

Gauge: 4 sc to 1 inch
