Art Deco Veiled Crochet Hat Bag Pattern, Baby Cap

Baby Cap Pattern : This pattern contains directions to crochet the hat pictured. The hat, vintage 1943 from the Spool Cotton Company, was officially named a Baby Cap. I have come up with no clues why, but must say that it is an attractive little piece of wearable art, made up in two colors in 10 simple rounds with just a bit of veiling added. The directions do not say exactly how it is folded. There is a matching handbag, clutch style, that is lined and has button closure. The pattern is vintage 1943 from The Spool Cotton Company.

Materials:   J.& P. COATS KNIT-CRO-SHEEN, 6 balls of Indian Pink and 4 balls of Maroon;   Steel Crochet Hook No.1;   3/4yard buckram;   3/4 yard lining material;   1 ½ yards veiling;   4 round buttons.
