Baby Blanket Carriage Cover Crochet Pattern

Carriage Trade : This pattern contains directions to crochet the blanket shown. The design, vintage 1943 from Chadwicks, is billed as a carriage cover. The official description - "Lap of Luxury crocheted carriage cover, handsomely cross-stitched with baby's very own, brand-new initial". The blanket, in three colors, measuring approximately 27 x 32 inches is made in strips with raised leaf motifs dispersed in rows and scalloped edge. The center panel is for the baby initial. (Note: An graph is not included for the initial. You sketch onto a piece of paper and transfer to the blanket for cross-stitching).

Materials:

• CHADWICK'S RED HEART SWEATER WOOL, 6 balls (1 oz. balls) of a light color, 8 balls of a medium color, and 3 balls of a dark color.
• Afghan Hook, Size 6.

GAUGE: 5 sts make 1 inch; 4 rows make 1 inch.
