Beginners Crochet Hat Mittens for Girls No 1234

School Cap & Mitten Set for Beginners:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the girls set pictured. This cute cap is adaptable in style. The contrasting color band may be turned up, or down all the way around or partway around, st will, without interfering with the ear-tabs. The mittens, warm and comfortable, are crocheted to fit the hand.

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Martha Madison No 1234 in 1967.

Material: One 4-ounce skein of Lightweight 4-ply Orlon Yarn in the main color, and one 2-ounce skein of the same in a contrasting color. Use #1 steel crochet hook and work evenly. To make two sets, two 4-ounce skeins of yarn will be enough if the colors are reversed for the second set.
