Here are useful doilies that express your good taste and, at the same time, cost little to crochet.  K stitch enhances the butterflies. Pattern 6045 contains instructions and charts for making an 18 x 24 inch and two 12-inch doilies.

Description

Filet Crocheted Doilies: These two filet crocheted butterfly motif doilies can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton depending on their use. They can be used as buffet sets, luncheon sets or as odd doilies. The pattern includes a filet chart of each doily also directions describing how the charts are to be used.  Crochet the oval doily at 18 x 24" or 12 x 16".  Crochet the round doily at 12 or 8".  

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6045 in 1938

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook, or No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook. 2 (500 yard) skeins of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton will make 1 large and 1 small doily, or 6 (125 yard) balls of No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton will make 1 large and 1 small doily.
