Butterfly Flower Filet Crochet Doily Design 1293

Filet Crochet Doilies:  This pattern contains directions to crochet the doilies pictured.  These crocheted doilies can either be made of Unbleached Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 60 Mercerized Crochet Cotton depending on their use. The pattern includes a filet chart for each doily and instructions describing how the Charts are to be followed. They can be used as buffet or variety sets, tray mats or as doilies.   Crochet the doilies in two sizes each.  The small doilies are 8-1/2 or 12-1/2 inches and the large doilies are 12 x 16 or 16 x 25-1/2 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1237 in 1936.   This particular pattern had a companion chair set design marketed as Laura Wheeler Design 1084 a week later.   

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached crochet and knitting cotton (800 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook, or No. 30 white Mercerized crochet cotton.
