Description

732-26 : This vintage pattern, 1960s from Columbia Minerva, includes instructions to knit (crocheted cord), all the Slipover Sweater, Detached Hood and Mittens pictured above. All three pieces feature the cable zig-zag pattern. The turtleneck sweater features long sleeves and hip length. All have ribbing. The pattern is sized 10 to 16. Instructions are written for size 10, with changes for 12, 14 and 16 shown in parentheses. 

MATERIALS REQUIRED 

  • - Columbia-Minerva Knitting Worsted (4 oz skein)- SLIPOVER: 5(5-6-6) skeins; HOOD AND MITTENS: 1 skein for each OR Columbia-Minerva Calypso Germantown Knitting Worsted (2 or 4 oz skein) - SLIPOVER: 22(24-24-26) ozs; HOOD AND MITTENS: 4 ozs for each 
  • - Knitting Needles: 1 pair each "Boye" Sizes 5 and 8 - 14 inch; 1 "Boye" cable needle, For Mittens: 1 set each "Boye" double point needles Sizes 4 and 7 - 7 inch 
  • - 1 "Boye" Aluminum Crochet Hook "F" (Size 3 or 4) 

Gauge: Pattern of 2 cables: 20 sts to 3 1/4 inches Zigzag pattern: 10 sts to 2 inches.
