Child Knitted Big Needle Cable Jacket, Mail Order 7248

Knitted Jacket:  This pattern contains directions for a jiffy-knit cabled jacket worked with two strands of yarn held together and extra large needles. Make it for either a boy or girl; with a plain collar or a double collar which converts into hood. Pattern includes three children's sizes: 4-6; 8-10 and 12-14.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7248.  "The collar converts to a hood - keeps child warm at play, or on way to school. Swift Knit on jumbo needles, 2 strands knitting worsted for cable trimmed jacket".    This pattern was featured in the 1962 Needlecraft Catalog.
