Crochet 3-Piece Vanity Set, Peggy Roberts R-2600

Three Piece Vanity Set:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the set pictured.   The set is comprised of two sizes - a large mat at 13 x 18 inches and a smaller mat at 9 x 9 inches square.   The easy pattern employs treble, double treble and cluster stitches in Mercerized Crochet Cotton.  The edges are finished with a pretty shell border, a ribbon draws through for a bow at each corner. 

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Peggy Roberts R-2600 by Needlework Bureau.  The newspaper description:  "This most unusual three piece vanity set is crocheted in a novelty mesh stitch with a flower and leaf border design. Satin ribbon is ran through the crocheted insertion and ends in a dainty bow in each of the four corners".

Materials:  1 skein of Mercerized Crochet Cotton, size 30, in White, Cream or Ecru;   6 yards of 1/2 inch wide satin ribbon;   Steel crochet hook, size 10.
