Crochet 4-Gored Skirt, Anne Cabot 5444

Crocheted 4-Gore Skirt:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the skirt pictured.   This 4-gored skirt, slightly below knee length, has waistband and back zipper closure.  The pattern written for size 12 with changes for 14 and 16 in parentheses.    The pattern was billed as a companion with a bolero sold as under No 5445.

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5444.  The newspaper description:  "Here are two crochet patterns - bolero and skirt - to give you a new Easter outfit; or wear the bolero with daytime dresses and the skirt with other toppers. Two separate patterns".  The pattern was included in the Anne Cabot 1955 Needlework Album.  

Materials:  COATS & CLARK'S O.N.T. "SPFED-CRO-SHEEN" MERCERIZED COTTON, Art. C 44: 13 balls of No. 49-A Killarney (Green) for Size 12; 14 balls for Size 14; 15 balls for Size 16;    and J. & B. COATS "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN", ART. A 64: 13 balls of No. 61-D Nu-Ecru for Sze 12; 14 balls for Sizes 14 and 16;   Plastic Afghan Hook No. F;   7" Crown Zipper Skirt Placket--Art. F1;   2 Hooks and Eyes;   1 Yard Grosgrain Ribbon, 1-inch wide.
