It is a simple matter to create this attractive tea apron consisting of an openwork mesh center, a couple of rows of attractive shell stitches and a lacy ruffle edged with colorful pansies. It measures approximately 13 to 15 inches.

Description

Crocheted Pansy Apron:   Make an easy chain-stitch pine cone center; surround it with three rows of shell-stitch, a ruffle of lace; and you are ready for the crowning glory of this apron – a chain of lovely pansies to attach to the ruffle.

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Ellen Bruce No 473 in 1950.

MATERIAL. Mercerized Crochet Cotton #30 Use a #10 steel crochet hook. The resulting apron will measure about 13" x 15" in size – just right for a dainty tea apron. White Purple, Yellow, and Green, will be needed. One big ball of each will be more than enough. One and one-half to two yards of 1/2-inch Satin Ribbon will also be needed. We used White for the inserting ribbon which forms ties.
