Crochet Aster Medallion Bedspread Tablecloth Design 6298

Crocheted Medallion and Fill Motif:  MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No„ 3 steel crochet hook, or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook.   Crochet the medallion at either 4 or 6 inches and the fill motif at 2-1/2 or 3-1/4 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6298 in 1939.   The advertisements were represented with two different pictures and descriptions. 

Materials:  Each large medallion requires approximately 55 yards of heavy cotton or 21 yards of fine cotton; each small medallion requires approximately 9 yards of heavy cotton or 6 yards of fine cotton.
