Crochet Bedspread Medallion, Alice Brooks 6370

Crocheted Medallion:  This crocheted medallion can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, buffet and chair sets, doilies and pillows.   When complete, depending upon materials used, your medallion will measure 5 or 7-12 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6370.  The newspaper description:  "Hard to surpass in its beauty is this exquisite medallion of easy crochet. Beginner and old timer alike can turn them out quickly, for the first one is easily memorized. They'll join to form a wide variety of accessories - scarfs, doilies, a chair or buffet set, pillow, even an heirloom spread or cloth".

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook; or No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.   (Each medallion requires approximately 44 yards of heavy cotton or 31 yards of fine cotton)
