Description

Crocheted Medallion:  These crocheted hexagons can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. They can be worked all in one color or they can be made of unbleached and colored cotton. When joined together the hexagons form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs or pillows.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7246.  The newspaper description:  "Work on a medallion in spare moments Before you know it you'll have this beautiful heirloom spread or a smaller accessory like scarf or pillow top". 

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 7 steel crochet hook; or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook.  (Each square requires approximately 90 yards of heavy cotton or 60 yards of fine cotton. If unbleached and a contrasting color knitting cotton are used each hexagon will require approximately 25 yards of color and 65 yards of unbleached).
