Crochet Bunny Nursery Rug, Anne Cabot 5228

Crocheted Rug:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the run pictured.   This is a very easy rug worked in single, double crochet and cluster stitch in three colors of heavy rug yarn. A full page chart is included for the bunny cross stitch.

The description from the pattern:    Only 8 skeins of cotton rug yarn are needed for this delightful and serviceable bathroom rug. This one has been crocheted in pale green, dark green and the cunning mother rabbit and two little bunnies are done in white. The rug is just 36 inches long and 22 inches wide. It's a grand size for the bathroom or beside the baby's or school child's bed.  This type rug is not only easy to crochet but is also easy to launder. Choose any three color combination that will best harmonize with your room decorations. Two shades of blue with white; two shades of rose and a pale pink, two shades of brown with the rabbits done in ecru or yellow is very pretty and a combination of black, grey and white is handsome" 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5228 in 1941.  The newspaper description:  "There fun to make, they are inexpensive and they are so good looking that you are apt to go around pointing with pride at your bathroom or nursery rugs. You'll need only 8 skeins of cotton rug to make this delightful and very serviceable rug for a childs room".

MATERIALS REQUIRED:  5 skeins Light Green, 2 skeins Dark Green, 1 skein White, Natural or Cream;   Aluminum Crochet Hook Size F or G, or Bone Crochet Hook #8 or 9
