Crochet Cobweb Square Pattern, Cloth Scarf, Laura Wheeler 229

Crocheted Square:  This crocheted square can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other household accessories.  The square may be crocheted at 3-1/4 or 5 inches.  

This is a Mail Order Design Pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 229 in 1942.  The newspaper description:  "Beginners, attention! This dainty medallion, cobweb, put you right in the swim with the seasoned crocheters. It's very easy to do, and you'll have crochet anyone would proudly claim as their work".

Materials Requirements:   Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook;   or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (150 yard) balls and a No. 10 steel crochet hook;   Each medallion requires approximately 30 yards of heavy cotton or 19 yards of fine cotton.
