Crochet Dahlia Flower Doily Pattern, Laura Wheeler 896

Crocheted Doilies: This pattern contains directions for making a crocheted square. The squares can be made either of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs and other household articles.  Depending upon materials selected, the square will measure 8 or 12 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 896.  The newspaper description:  "Square splendor - crochet to glamorize your home! These luxuriously lacy squares - each large enough to use as a doily - look like dahlias transplanted".

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• No 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook 
• or Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook.
• Each square requires approximately 125 yards of fine cotton or 165 yards of heavy cotton.
