Crochet Dog Stuffed Toy Pattern PC 4806

White Dog :  This pattern contains directions to crochet the dog shown.   This cute guy, officially named White Dog, can of course, be stitched in any color of your choice. This sitting fellow, with chunky legs has big floppy ears, a pointed cap, button eyes and a ribbon tie.   The actual size is not stated, however, from the visual, I would say in the 10 inch area. 

This is a mail order pattern, vintage 1940s, from the National Needlecraft Bureau.  In this economically stressed time period (WWII) NNB put out a number of craft patterns intended to become childrens toys. 

Materials: 

• Chadwicks Red Heart Knitting Worsted, 4 balls (1 oz balls) of white
• J&P Coats or Clarks O.N.T. Pearl Cotton, Size 5, 2 balls of Hunters Green, 1 ball of Lt Pink and scraps of Black and Red
• Clarks O.N.T. Plastic Crochet Hook No 7
• 2 black buttons for eyes
• 1/4 yard of green grosgrain ribbon, 1/4 inch wide
• Cotton batting

Gauge:  3 sc make 1 inch; 4 rnds make 1 inch
