Description

Crocheted Dogwood Square:   This crocheted square can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and chair sets.  The finished square may measure 3 or 4-1/2 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6420 in 1939.  The newspaper description:  "Dogwood, that lovely flower of Spring, inspired this prized square that makes such choice accessories. Even a beginner will find it goes quickly".

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook, or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.   Each square requires approximately 21 yards of heavy cotton or 15 yards of fine cotton.
