Crochet Doily Luncheon Set, Ruth Orr 1308

Crocheted Doilies:  This pattern contains directions to crochet the doilies pictured.  Crocheted in three sizes, perfect for luncheon or dresser sets, or use as random doilies.   In No 30 mercerized crochet cotton, the sizes are 6, 11 or 17 inches in diameter. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Needlework Bureau (Ruth Orr) No. 1308 in 1939.  The newspaper description:  "During these long hot days, one's thoughts often turn to ways to freshen up the home. Don't overlook this set of delicate lace doilies, excellent for use under lamps, ash trays or even as a luncheon set. You'll be so proud of your handiwork that you'll be making them as bridal gifts".
