Crochet Feather Beret Pattern Anne Cabots 5012

Crochet Beret: This pattern gives directions to crochet the beret pictured. An easy design with additional adornment options -- pompoms or a feather crocheted around wire. The pattern is adjustable headsize.

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot's 5012 in 1951.    

Materials:   4 oz. Knitting Worsted or Chenille, any desired color;   1 tube of Gimp or Corde, matching color;   Small amount of contrasting color worsted or chenille for trimming;   2/3 yd (or more if desired) 7/8" wide grosgrain ribbon, matching color;   1/4 yd of heavy millinery wire (or several times as much thin wire twisted together);   Plastic Crochet Hook No. 7.

GAUGE: 3 sc - 1 inch; 3 rows - 1 inch.
