Description

Crocheted Square:  This pattern contains directions for making a crocheted square. The square can be made either of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. The choice of the cotton governs the size of the square. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs and other household articles. One square can be used as a doily or as a pillow top.   This is a large square - crochet at 12 or 17 inches, 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 679 in 1946.  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook or Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 9 steel crochet hook.   Each squares requires approximately 250 yards of fine cotton or 350 yards of heavy cotton.
