Description

Crocheted Square:  This crocheted square can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, scarfs, cloths and pillows.    The square may be crocheted at 4-1/2 or 7 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements.   The pattern was marketed as The American Weekly No 3996 in 1941.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook, or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.   Each square requires approximately 53 yards of heavy cotton or 40 yards of fine cotton.
