Crochet Geometric Block Afghan Pillow Pattern

Strawberry Patch Afghan :  This pattern contains instructions to crochet the bright and cheerful afghan, or throw, pictured above. This pattern combines strawberry with beige for a brilliant accent in a room, dominated by earth tones. Or use related tones of yellow and lime,; contrast white with dark. Or, of course, substitute to colors of your choice. This is a block motif pattern, The pattern is vintage 1950s from McCalls. 

SIZE: Afghan, about 52" x 65"; pillow, 8" square. 

MATERIALS: 

• Bernat Nylo Germantown, 12 2-oz. skeins Strawberry (A), 12 skeins Beige (B) for afghan and one pillow. 
• Plastic crochet hook size 6 or H- 
• Tapestry needle.
• Foam rubber, 2" thick, 8" square, or 2 squares, 1" thick. 
• 1/4 yard beige cotton fabric. 

GAUGE: 3 tr=1" Each square measures 7".
