Description

Crocheted Gloves: This pattern contains directions for making crocheted gloves worked in either cotton or 3-ply wool. Crocheted in two sections the gloves can be made in one color with contrasting edging or a color for each section. The crocheting is done in continuous rows of single crochet extending from the wrist to fingertips. Directions are given for gloves in three sizes; small, medium and large size.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 525 in 1947.

Materials:  Either 2 (1 ounce) skeins of one color (or 1 skein each of two shades) and 50 yards of a contrasting color 3-ply Fingering Yarn or either 2 (1 ounce) balls of one color (or 1 ball each of two shades) and 50 yards of 3-fold Saxony Yarn or 1 (250 yard) ball of one color (or ball each of two shades) and 50 yards of a contrasting color Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 2 steel crochet hook.
