Crochet Granny Afghan Martha Madison 964

Crocheted Afghan: This pattern gives directions to crochet the afghan shown. The granny block design is worked in 3 colors of a 4-ply knitting worsted; or use scraps in as many colors as you might desire.

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Martha Madison 964 in 1966.  

Materials:  Regular 4-ply Worsted Yarn. Use a #1 steel crochet hook & work evenly so blocks will be 5-inches square. Left-over yarns of this wt. may be utilized in the centers of the blocks but should all new yarn be purchased, you will need two 4-oz skeins of Color #1 (deep variegated colors): three skeins of Color #2 (a pretty green or brown); and six skeins of Color #3 (black).  couple minutes.
