Crochet Granny Afghan, Wards Leaflet C

Granny Afghan : This pattern contains directions to crochet the afghan shown. This pattern was issued as Montgomery Ward Leaflet C in promotion of their Ward's Germantown Zephyr yarn - which I believe would date to the late 1930s. The easy pattern, made up with 3-1/2 inch blocks, calls for bits of a variety of colors (see photo of color chart) and is then joined together with use of the included layout chart. The finished afghan will measure 42 x 56 inches.

Materials: Ward's Germantown Zephyr 4-ply, No. 20-400: 19 balls Black; 3 balls each, Medium Green and Red; 2 balls each, Lemon, Emerald Green, Nile Green, Lavender, Purple, Gray, and Light Brown; 1 ball each, Orange, Cardinal, Turquoise, Delft Blue, Dark Green, Dark Rose, Scarlet, and Tan;   Celluloid Crochet Hook No. 20-4678: One, size 3
