Description

Crocheted Medallion:  These two medallions can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and chair sets. The medallion may be created at 2-1/2 or 4-1/2 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through the newspapers.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2283 in 1939.  The newspaper description: "Done quickly in string, this medallion makes lovely accessories. Leave off a few rows to make a smaller medallion.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook, or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.  Each large medallion requires approximately 53 yards of heavy cotton or 32 yards of fine cotton. Each small medallion requires approximately 23 yards of heavy cotton or 18 yards of fine cotton.
