Crochet Hot Plate Mats, Round Oval, Anne Cabot 5538

Crocheted Hot Mats:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the mats pictured. One mat is round and two are variations of oval with an interesting motif.  The actual size of the mats are not stated.  

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5538.  The newspaper description:   "Fresh - summery looking hot plate mats crocheted in white and trimmed with green, blue or red will add a practical and good looking touch to plate matted, hot weather tables.The design is easily crocheted and most attractive when finished".

Materials:

• 14 - 60 yard balls of White, Size 5; 6 - 60 yard balls of Green, Size 5.
• Needle: Steel crochet hook #4.  (Mats are made with double thread)
