This crocheted 20 by 9-inch run-ner recently won little JackieHaines of Louisville, Ky a prize and a trip to New York. I was one of the judges and talked to the 15-year-old girl when the prizes were awarded. Joyce She was named the junior champion crocheter of the whole United States. Quite a title for a young girl, isn't it? Her runner is really lovely. She told me that her grandmother had designed it many years ago and had taught her to do crocheting. I know you will enjoy crocheting it for a runner on your buffet or dining table.

Description

Crocheted Runner: This pattern contains directions to crochet the runner shown. The official text on this pattern : " Little fifteen-year old Joyce Haines of Louisville, Kentucky entered this runner in a national crochet contest. The other judges and I chose it as the winner. When Joyce came to New York to receive her prize money he told me that it was an original design of her grandmother's. Her grandmother had taught her to crochet and she has become quite an expert. The 20 by 9 inch runner was made in ecru but it will be even handsomer in white. I also had one made up in dusty blue and it is exceptionally pretty.
