Description

Crocheted Lampshade:  This pattern contains directions for making crocheted lampshades. It is easy to cover a shade, new 'or old, paper or silk with jiffy crochet using wired Chenille or Straw Material. Directions are given for two different style shades, each can be made in any desired size.  

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 734.  The newspaper description:  "Lamp shades shabby? Can't find the right size or color? Cover a shade, new or old, paper or silk, with crochet in Chenille or straw yarn. Solve your lampshade problems with a simple crocheted cover for your shade".   The pattern was included in the 1946 Laura Wheeler Designs Catalog.  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Either wired Chenille or Straw Material, or heavy Straw Material; No 5 Bone Crochet Hook
