Peacock Tails: This pattern contains directions to crochet the luncheon set pictured. This pattern, officially named Peacock Tails appeared in a number of The Spool Cotton Company pattern books during the 1940's and 1950's. The official description : "A luncheon set with starched crisp charm. Doilies that spread like a gorgeous peacock's tail. Proud beauties that you can crochet in a twinkling!".

The set consists of a centerpiece 16 inches in diameter from point to point; 4 place doilies 13 ½ inches in diameter from point to point; 4 bread and butter plate doilies 8 inches in diameter from point to point, and 4 glass doilies 6 inches in diameter from point to point.

MATERIALS: CLARK'S O.N.T. or J. & P. COATS BEST SIX CORD MERCERIZED CROCHET, size 20

• SMALL BALL: CLARK'S O.N.T.-14 balls of White or Ecru, OR J. & P. COATS-10 balls of White or Ecru.
• BIG BALL: CLARK'S O.N.T.-6 balls of White or Ecru, OR J. & P. COATS-6 balls of White or Ecru, or 7 balls of any color.
• Milward's Steel Crochet Hook No 9 or 10.
