Crochet Mesh Scarf Mats Pattern, Alice Brooks 7190

Jiffy Crochet Scarfs and Mats:  These crocheted scarfs and mats can be made of either a double strand or a single strand of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. They can be combined to form a luncheon or buffet set or they can be used as odd pieces. The scarf can be made any desired length. Depending upon materials used, the scarfs can measure 13 or 16 x 25 - 38, or any length desired.  The mats are are 13 or 16 square. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7190.  It was included in the Alice Brooks 1949 pattern catalog.    The newspaper description:  "For special parties, crochet scarfs and mats sets to enhance your best china, show off your crystal. Inexpensive and easy to make. Beautiful hand crochet for polished furniture".
