 Here is a crocheted mittens which may be made in an evening. Made of white wool and flowers embroidered with scraps of colorful wool. Just the thing for high school or college girl. 

Description

Crochet Mittens with Embroidery:  This pattern contains directions to crochet the mittens pictured.  This is an easy one size patterns for average misses teen sized hands.  The mittens, worked in knitting worsted, feature a bit extra length to cover the wrists for that added layer of warmth.  A diagram is included for the embroidery.  

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern, No 1256, was first marketed under the Ellen Bruce brand in 1942, and then later under the Needlework Bureau and Martha Madison brands ever couple years into 1956.  

MATERIALS: 1 - 4 oz. hank knitting worsted;  No. 0 steel crochet needle;   Small amounts of green, yellow and two extra colors of wool yarn for embroidery.
