Walk like the Indian - in comfort - not that the Indian ever crocheted themselves any slippers - but these actually are as comfortable as moccasins. But prettier! They'll be grand for house wear next winter - as well as right now. Put them on your gift list, too. Made of bright red and white rug yarn. Make them in any two colors. The sole is crocheted so you don't need to purchase leather soles.

Description

Crocheted Slippers:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the slippers pictured.  "They'll be grand for house wear next winter as well as right now! Put these on your gift list, too. The slippers in the illustration are made of bright red and white rug yarn. They will be equally gay in bite and white, red and black, brown and tan, wine and pink or any two colors that make an interesting contrast.   The sole is crocheted so that you will not need to shop for leather soles which are practically non-existent these days. Use a fairly heavy rug yarn - 80 yards to the skein".

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5424 in 1942.

Materials:  2 skeins red, 1 skein white heavy rug yarn;   NEEDLE: Bone crochet hook #6.
