Crochet a few rounds in string and you have the small medallion, suitable for scarfs and pillows. Add a few more rounds and you have the larger medallion which, repeated and joined, forms this spread or cloth in rich all-over design. P

Description

Crocheted Medallion: These two medallions can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, scarfs, cloths, pillows and chair sets.   The large medallion will measure 5 or 8 inches; the smaller fill medallions will be 3-1/2 or 6 inches in diameter. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6266 in 1938.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook, or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook. Each large medallion requires approximately 51 yards of heavy cotton or 34 yards of fine cotton. Each small medallion requires approximately 32 yards of heavy cotton or 22 yards of fine cotton.
