Crochet Openwork Top Pattern No 387

Crochet Vestee:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the vestee top pictured.   This design is entirely made of openwork using 3-ply baby yarn,.   It's sleeveless, nicely tucked at the waist and hip length.  "  The lightest wool summer hug-me-tight imaginable! Consisting entirely of openwork, it is quickly crocheted. To be made of 3-ply Baby Yarn with, or without, a rayon thread in it. Crochet evenly and rather firmly" 

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Martha Madison No 387 in 1961.  

MATERIAL: Pompadour or plain wool 3-ply Baby Yarn about 4 ounces to make Size 14; 5 ounces to make Size 16; 6 ounces to make Size 18. Use a #3 steel crochet-hook.
