Crochet Oval Doilies Pattern Pineapple Design 3551

Crocheted Doilies:  These crocheted doilies can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. They can be used as buffet and luncheon sets or as odd doilies.   Crochet the oval doilies at 16 x 28 or 12 x 22 inches.  Crochet the round doilies at 10 or 12 inches.  

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements.   The pattern was marketed as The American Weekly 3155 in 1942. 

Materials:  Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook or No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.   The oval doily requires approximately 325 yards of heavy cotton or 260 yards of fine cotton.   The round doily requires approximately 112 yards of heavy cotton or 90 yards of fine cotton.
