Crochet Pansy Chair Set, Peggy Roberts R-2717

Crochet Pansy Chair Set:   This pattern gives directions to create the chair set pictured.  This is a simple, yet quite attractive set.  Mesh sits atop a pineapple border with an appliqued pansy in-between.  The applique is crocheted separately and stitched on.  The applique flower is 5 x 4 inches;  The actual size of the chair back and arm rests are not stated. 

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed by Needlework Bureau as Peggy Roberts R-2717 in 1948.  The newspaper description:  "This unusual crocheted chair set combines beauty and charm with real usefulness. Easily and quickly made, the appliqued pansy motif is crocheted separately".

Materials: 3 Large balls, mercerized cotton No 20 white, 1 small ball each No 30, white, light blue, yellow, dark blue, light green;  Steel crochet hooks – No 8 (for flowers) and No 10 (for back and arm pieces).
