Crochet Pansy Wheel Doily Pattern, Peggy Roberts 2826

Crochet Pansy Wheel Doily:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the doily pictured.   The design is both simple and elegant - a tight wheel center radiating outwards to a colorful pansy border measuring 13 inches in diameter. 

This is a Mail Order Pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Peggy Roberts R-2826 through Needlework Bureau.  The newspaper description:  "Here is an enchanting Spring doily you'll love making and everyone will admire. Easy crocheting too. The wheel center is crocheted of white cotton, the pretty pansy edging worked separately in variegated colorings, then attached to the center".  

MATERIALS:  1 Large Ball ( 250 yds) Mercerized Crochet Cotton, Size 20, white;   1 Ball ( 65 yds) Variegated Crochet Cotton in each of following colors: lavender, pink, blue and yellow, 1 Ball ( 65 yds) Crochet Cotton in plain green;   Steel Crochet Hook No. 8 (Standard Size).
