Crochet Pineapple Doily Pattern Design 618

Crocheted Doilies: These crocheted doilies, worked in pineapple design, can be made either of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. The choice of the cotton governs the size. and texture of the doilies. The large doily will measure 19 or 30 inches and the small doily will be 13 or 17 inches in diameter.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 618.   The pattern was featured in the Laura Wheeler 1950 Designs Catalog as well as the 1962 Laura Wheeler Designs catalog.  (Note:  These two catalogs are near duplicates).

Materials:   No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (150 yard) balls and a No. 10 steel crochet hook OR Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook.  The large doily requires approximately 750 yards of heavy cotton or 570 yards of fine cotton.  The small doily requires approximately 300 yards of heavy cotton or 225 yards of fine cotton.
