Crochet Pineapple Doily Pattern, Round Oval, No 7315

Crocheted Doilies:  This pattern contains directions for making a n an an oval pineapple doily. The doilies can be made either of No. 50 or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. The choice of the cotton governs the size and texture of doily.  The round doilies are 10, 11-1/2 or 17 inches; the oval doilies are 6 x 9-1/2, 7-1/2 x 11 or 12 x 16 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs.   This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7315 in 1942.  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:   No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 14 steel crochet hook, or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook;   or unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook.   The round doily requires approximately 134 yards of No. 50 Cotton or 145 yards of No. 30 Cotton or 187 yards of heavy cotton.   The oval doily requires approximately 95 yards of No. 50 Cotton or 105 yards of No. 30 Cotton or 167 yards of heavy cotton.
