Crochet Pineapple Seed Doily Pattern, Anne Cabot 5535

Pineapple Seed Doily:  This pattern gives directions to crochet the doily shown.   The doily is on the smaller size at 9-1/2 inches.  

This is a Mail Order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. The pattern was marketed as Anne Cabot 5535 in 1943.  The official description: " One inch pineapples growing on the outer edge of a circular field makes this entrancing doily. The pineapples, of course, stand for hospitality - the seeds represent the promise of bountiful crops. In the crocheted doily the little nubbly stitches which form the seeds are unusually effective. Legions of "pineapple" design collectors will like to add this doily to their collections. Use it under a flower vase or make a set of six for use under glass salad or dessert plates". 

MATERIALS:  2 balls of white or ecru, mercerized crochet cotton, size 20 O.N.T.;   Steel crochet hook #9 or 10.
