Description

Crocheted Square:  This crocheted square worked in the pineapple design can be made either of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs and other household articles. Crocheted in heavy cotton the square can be used as a pillow top or a doily.  The square may be crocheted at 12 or 16 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7432 in 1945.     

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook or Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton-and a No. 8 steel crochet hook.  Each square requires approximately 250 yards of fine cotton or 324 yards of heavy cotton.
