Description

Crocheted Square : This pattern contains instructions to crochet the square pictured. It can be made either of No 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs and other articles. One square can be used as a pillow top or as a doily. The squares, depending on the materials, measure either 12 x 12 inches or 16 x 16 inches.

This is a mail order pattern, ordered through newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 687 in 1945.   The design was also featured in the 1946 Laura Wheeler Designs Catalog

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:  No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook;   or unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No.8 steel crochet hook.   (Each square requires approximately- 205 yards of fine cotton or 310 yards of heavy cotton.)
