Description

Crocheted Square:  This pattern contains directions for making a pineapple crocheted square. The square can be made either of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths and scarfs. The square can be used as a doily or as a pillow top.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7048 in 1948.

Materials:  No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook;   or unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook;   Each square requires approximately 160 yards of fine cotton or 225 yards of heavy cotton.
