Crochet Pineapple Swirl Doily Design 7428

Crochet Doilies: This pattern gives directions for crocheting the doilies shown. The doily may be crocheted in two sizes of large and small, depending upon materials selected. The large doilies are 22 or 28 inches; the small doilies are 15 or 20 inches. The doilies feature a central pineapple flower bloom, surrounded by spiderweb mesh and finishes with a grand slanted pineapple border.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7428 in 1965.  The pattern was also marketed under The American Weekly brand.  

Materials:   No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 14 steel crochet hook or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook; or unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (700 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook. The large doily requires approximately 400 yards of No. 50 Cotton or 460 yards of No. 30 Cotton or 635 yards of heavy cotton. The small doily requires approximately 200 yards of No. 50 Cotton or 260 yards of No. 30 Cotton or 350 yards of heavy cotton.
