Description

Crochet Priscilla Dress - Toaster Cover:   This pattern gives directions to crochet the cover pictured.   Named the Priscilla dress for the 1960's doll of the same name.   This dress is designed to slip over the doll, tie under the arms to flow over your toaster, or whatever you might wish to cover.  A long, full dress designed to cover toaster, telephone, or other objects. The pineapple flounce of the dress may be continued to any depth desired.

This is a Mail Order pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Martha Madison No 284 in 1964.

Material: Purchase an 8-inch standing doll (lady-type) at the nearest dime store. It is an undressed doll which sells for about 60 cents. About 500 yards of #30 Crochet Cotton will be needed to make the dress. Use a #10 steel crochet-hook. A piece of taffeta (or other material) will be needed to line the dress (or to make petticoat), and a bit of baby ribbon for sash.
