Description

Filet Crochet Tablecloth Edging:  This filet crocheted border can be made either of No. 50 mercerized Crochet Cotton, No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. The choice of the cotton governs the width and texture of crochet.   The border is 12 inches deep if made of No 50 cotton or 14-1/2 inches deep if made on No 30 cotton or 18 inches deep if made of heavy cotton. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2896 in 1941.  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (175 yard) balls and a No. 12 steel crochet hook or No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (150 yard) balls and a No. 10 steel crochet hook or unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (500 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook.  

2 balls of No. 50 Crochet Cotton will make about 15 inches of border; 2 balls of No. 30 Crochet Cotton will make about 10 inches of border; 1 skein of Mercerized Crochet Cotton will make about 20 inches of border.
