Crochet Scarf Cloth Pattern Design 6270

Jiffy Crocheted Cloth and Scarf:  This table cloth and scarf can either be made of two strands of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton worked together, or of a single strand of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. The weight of the cotton governs the size and texture of article. The center section of cloth, which can also be used as a scarf, is worked first. The border is worked around center section. Included in the pattern is a chart for center section.  This is an intermediate to advanced pattern.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6270 in 1939.    

HEAVY CLOTH (APPROXIMATELY 64 X 92 INCHES) MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: 13 (500 yard) skeins of unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 1 steel crochet hook. For this cloth use two strands of cotton worked together, this will make a very heavy thread.

MEDIUM WEIGHT CLOTH (APPROXIMATELY 47 X 65 INCHES) MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: 4 (500 yard) skeins of unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 7 steel crochet hook.

FINE CLOTH (APPROXIMATELY 34 X 44 INCHES) REQUIREMENTS: 11 (150 yard) balls of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.

HEAVY SCARF (APPROXIMATELY 21 X 42 INCHES) MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: 3 500 yard skeins of unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 1 steel crochet hook. For this scarf use two strands of cotton worked together, this will make a very heavy thread. Follow the directions for center section of cloth.

MEDIUM WEIGHT SCARF (APPROXIMATELY 14-1/2 X 29 INCHES) MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: 1 500 yard skein of unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 7 steel crochet hook. Follow the directions for center section of cloth.

FINE SCARF (APPROXIMATELY 10 X 20 INCHES) MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: 3 (150 yard) balls of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook.
